NBCUniversal announced a three-year partnership with Jr. Achievement of Southern California, a non-profit organization that seeks to inspire and empower tens of thousands of young people through financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship education.
As part of the partnership, the company constructed an NBCUniversal “Storefront” at Jr. Achievement Finance Park and unveiled the space on February 22, 2017. The interactive program is designed for middle and high school students to participate in a reality-based simulation and become an “adult for the day” to learn about financial literacy and smart money management skills.
The NBCUniversal space creates an exciting learning environment for students to gain the tools and resources they need to be financially successful, while interacting with different businesses across the brand.
As the exclusive entertainment partner, students are able to select from a variety of NBCUniversal entertainment options such as theme park tickets, movie tickets, and digital streaming services based on their interests and budget.
In addition, a select group of students are assigned profiles based on existing NBCUniversal careers within the company's West Coast headquarters.
NBCUniversal employees have volunteered at Jr. Achievement Finance Park for several years, including as part of the company's signature volunteer day of service Comcast Cares Day.
