Singer Johnny Mathis will receive a lifetime achievement award at Los Angeles' African American Heritage Month Celebration Wednesday on City Hall's South Lawn.
Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Michelle King and Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners President Matthew Johnson will receive Hall of Fame awards.
The event is organized by Mayor Eric Garcetti and Our Authors Study Club.
