Actress Elizabeth Taylor says she is going to a hospital to have a "procedure on my heart."

On her Twitter page, Taylor says the procedure "involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better."

"It's very new," Taylor wrote.

She also asked fans to keep her in their thoughts as she underwent the procedure.

"Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate. I'll let you know when it's all over," Taylor wrote.

She said on her Twitter page she wanted to let her fans know before news leaked "in the papers" of her hospitalization.

Taylor did not say when the procedure was scheduled or what hospital she was going to.
