"Big Love" star Ginnifer Goodwin has broken off her engagement to Joey Kern, People reports. According to People’s anonymous source, the high-profile Hollywood couple amicably decided to split a few weeks ago.
The pair had planned to wed this fall, after Kern, 34, proposed to Goodwin, 32, in December with a ring he’d designed himself. Now that the wedding’s off, they plan to remain friends, according to People.
The petite brunette, who also starred in "He's Just Not That Into You" and the Johnny Cash biopic “Walk the Line,” was introduced to the scruffy blond actor by a mutual friend, and the couple dated for two years before they decided to get hitched.
Prior to Kern, Goodwin dated former “American Pie” star Chris Klein, who had formerly been engaged to Katie Holmes, for two years before amicably parting.
