Lindsay Lohan: Obscene Fingernail Doodle was a “Joke”

Starlet says obscene doodle had nothing to do with court hearing

Lindsay Lohan wasn't just pointing the finger in court on Tuesday, she was painting it. And the explicit doodle she now calls a "joke" is not likely to sit well with the judge who sentenced her to 90 days in jail.

While LA Judge Marsha Revel lectured her for violating probation by skipping court-ordered alcohol education classes and making excuse after excuse, the truth-challenged red-head had "F--- U" written in tiny letters on the nail of her left middle finger. With cameras in the courtroom, and photo editors working through the night, the not-cryptic-at-all message was uncovered and blown up in inset pictures all over the Web.

Lohan downplayed the incident Wednesday on her Twitter feed, calling the message unrelated to her legal troubles.

"Didn't we do our nails as a joke with our friend?" she tweeted to one of her followers. "It had nothing to do w/court.. it's an airbrush design from a stencil."

On Tuesday, the troubled 24-year-old brandished her micro-missive even as she blubbered for mercy and blamed everyone but herself for her problems, most of which stem from a 2007 DUI arrest.

"As far as I had known, I was in compliance," Lohan said. "Had I been taken aside and told [otherwise] then, that would have been a different story."

Revel, noting Lohan's counselors have complained about her endless and "disrespectful" excuses, said "It's like somebody who cheats doesn't think it's cheating unless they get caught."

It's unlikely the inscripted talon will elude Revel's attention. The judge is not exactly oblivious to how the former child star's ongoing case is played out on gossip sites.

"All I know is that every time the three of us meet privately in chambers … by the time you hit the door, TMZ knows what we spoke about and I don’t think there's a bug back there so I don’t know," Revel complained to LA Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers and Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley.

Lohan has to begin serving her sentence on July 20. Although the 90 days is likely to be reduced to as little as 22 days, according to Access Hollywood, she must immediately begin inpatient rehab when she is freed.

A psychiatrist and psychologist will interview Lohan and “submit an opinion as to best type of program" she requires, according to court documents obtained by Access.
