Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook have agreed to settle the terms of their divorce in the latest chapter of the couple's nasty splitsville saga.

The warring couple whose Hamptons fairy tale life unraveled last year settled on terms after both the stunner supermodel and her cheating ex-hubby both demanded the other be thrown in jail.

A sharp-tongued statement issued by Brinkley's lawyer released early this morning that claimed the blonde bombshell was "completely vindicated" threatened to stall negotiations, an attorney for Cook said.

"That created a lot of turmoil because it was inaccurate," attorney Steven Kuhn told NBCNewyork.com.

The statement in question was riddled with what Cook's camp called "false characterizations" that said the judge threw out all the requests made by Cook, who claimed the model mom was violating the terms of their divorce by keeping him from the kids.

"She didn't get any of what she wanted," Kuhn said.

Hours earlier, Brinkley's attorney said in the statement the model mom got just what she asked for.

"Mr. Cook has tried repeatedly to tarnish Ms. Brinkley's reputation by making defamatory statements during national television broadcasts, in print media and blogs," Brinkley's attorney, Peter Coronia, calling Cook's motion part of a "smear campaign."

Brinkley decided to withdraw her counterclaim "in an effort to put all this behind her," Coronia said.

The couple ripped into one another in a Long Island courtroom last week in a bitter he-said, she-said battle in which both accused each other of violating the terms of their divorce.

Though imprisonment was unlikely, the suggestion that both parties be thrown in the clink drew gasps from the courtroom, according to The New York Post.

"She is doing everything she can to ruin my relationship with my kids," Cook told The Post last week. "I am trying to move on with my life, and I wish she would do the same."
