Jessica Simpson Pitches Body-Image Reality Show

Jessica Simpson, who took heat for packing on extra weight this year, is reportedly pitching a reality show about what makes women beautiful.

Singer Jessica Simpson is reportedly pitching a reality show to TV networks about how society -- and women in particular -- cope with body image issues, fighting back at critics who've panned her recent weight gain.

The show, tentatively titled "The Price of Beauty," would follow Simpson and a friend on a road trip around the country as they attempt to find out what people find beautiful and why, Us magazine reported.

Simpson will be fully hands-on with the show -- she and her friend will even try out some of the shocking and drastic measures women take to make their bodies more beautiful during the road trip, a source told the magazine.

"Picture 'Fear Factor,'" the source said.

The "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer's rep confirmed Simpson's pitching a show but details haven't yet been finalized.

Simpson, who starred on the MTV reality show "Newlyweds" with then-husband and ex-boy band member Nick Lachey, was ripped by the media when she appeared at a concert in January packing a few extra pounds and stuffed into too-tiny, high-waisted jeans.

She told Harper's Bazaar in an interview that she prefers curves on a woman -- and that super-skinny figures are undesirable.

“Curves are better,” she told the magazine. “I don’t get the whole rail thing. It’s not good for your heart, it’s not good for your mind; it’s emotionally destructive, it really is."
