Uma Thurman to do Multi-Episode Arc on “Smash”

The veteran actress will be joining the new NBC musical drama, premiering Feb. 6th.

"Smash" just made a pretty big splash.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Uma Thurman will be bringing some serious star power to the mid-season NBC series "Smash," which debuts Feb. 6.

The "Pulp Fiction" star will be appearing in a multi-episode arc, playing a famous but difficult movie star who circles the lead role in the Broadway musical at the center of the show's plot.

"Smash," starring "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee, is about a naive young actress and singer who attempts to make it big in a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe.

The last time Thurman headed to TV, she snagged a Golden Globe for efforts (the 2002 HBO TV movie "Hysterical Blindness").

In addition to McPhee, "Smash" stars "Will & Grace" vet Debra Messing and Hollywood royal Anjelica Huston.
