You can always count on the In Memoriam part of the Oscars to start some controversy.

Dave Grohl gave a beautiful rendition of The Beatles' "Blackbird" during the Academy Awards 2016 In Memoriam TV tribute, and while viewers watched clips and images of the talent we lost this year, including David Bowie and Alan Rickman (to name a few), the montage came to an end without paying recognition to some fallen stars.

Geoffrey Lewis was omitted, and his daughter, actress Juliette Lewis was quick to call it out. "My dad #GeoffreyLewis was beloved and contributed over 220 roles in film and tv. @TheAcademy maybe you can remember to include him nxt yr," she tweeted.

But there was one other star whose snub from the telecast really got people going – where was Abe Vigoda?

It turns out Vigoda, along with other stars, weren't exactly left out. They were just not shown on the telecast. The Academy included Vigoda, and other late stars, in their In Memoriam photo gallery online.

Vigoda's family is demanding an apology from the Oscars, according to TMZ. "Last night the Oscars dismayed many and cheated Abe Vigoda by not paying tribute to the immense professional energies and talents that he brought to the industry," Vigoda's daughter Carol Vigoda Fuchs said.

Vigoda, who played mobster Sal Tessio in "The Godfather," died in January at the age of 94. Vigoda was also known for his roles in the movies "Joe Versus The Volcano" and "Look Who's Talking," and for playing NYPD detective Phil Fish on the TV sitcoms "Barney Miller" and "Fish."  Inside the Oscar After PartiesInside the Oscar After Parties
