Guess that whole "American Idol" juding thing isn't happening?

We are told it is now "not looking likely" that Lambert will join the "Idol" judging panel, despite previous plans to bring Idol alums to the table. (Those plans are being reconsidered thanks to a change in leadership behind the scenes, including the departure of Fox reality boss Mike Darnell and show producer Nigel Lythgoe.)

Fox recently confirmed that four cast members would not be returning as series regulars this fall: Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Harry Shum, Jr.

Jayma Mays also has nabbed a role on another network, starring opposite Will Arnett on CBS' "The Millers."

No word yet on whether Lambert will be a series regular, or any details about his character. Will he be in New York? Lima? A love interest for one of the girls? Guys? A manny for Sue Sylvester?

We don't even care because this casting news is so extremely promising!

Fox reps have not yet responded to a request for comment.
