Angelina Jolie Joins Time in Editorial Role

Actress, director and Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie can now add a new title to her resume - contributing editor.

Edward Felsenthal, Editor in Chief and CEO of TIME, announced last week that Jolie will be writing monthly for the magazine on a variety of topics including displacement, conflict and human rights, TIME reported.

Before her most recent advocacy role, Jolie began her focus on human rights 18 years ago when she joined the UN Refugee Agency, where she now serves as the Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. To date, Jolie has completed more than 60 humanitarian missions around the world, including visits to countries such as Colombia, Peru and Bangladesh.

Readers can view her first story in the July 1, 2019 issue of the magazine, which coincides with World Refugee Day. The piece comes after Jolie previously released an essay on the role of women in Afghanistan peace negotiations for the magazine.
