Carson Daly Joins “Today” Show as Host of Orange Room

The “Today” show family has a new addition.

Carson Daly, who’s no stranger to the show – he’s co-anchored with Savannah Guthrie – will be joining the program as the host of “Today’s” brand new Orange Room.

The room is a cutting edge interactive digital studio that will connect the show and its audience through social media and other digital platforms. It is part of "Today's" revamped Studio1A, set to debut on Monday, Sept. 16.

"I've loved the 'Today' show for a long time," said Carson who shot to fame as host of MTV's "TRL." "When I'm there I feel like a kid in a candy store. I think the first time I was on 'Today' I was having so much fun and I tweeted 'Today' is TRL for grownups.'"

Carson, who’s also the host of NBC’s “The Voice” singing competition, will allow viewers to provide feedback and influence morning show segments, according to “Today.”

“I’m really excited to meet 'Today' viewers – I want them to tweet at me and to look at the Orange Room as their room; I want to be their host,” he said.
