WATCH: David Duchovny Plays Beer Hockey With Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show”

David Duchovny stopped by "The Tonight Show" for a game of beer hockey with Jimmy Fallon.

But first, the actor sat down the with late night host and talked about the Twitter account he recently created. The actor created an online frenzy after tweeting fellow "X-Files" star Gillian Anderson, igniting rumors that the two were secretly a couple. However, Duchovny said they were merely catching up.

The 53-year-old also told a story about a time a homeless man crashed a shoot for the science fiction series in Los Angeles years ago. Apparently, the man kept referring to him as "Robert Ducunny." The actor said from then on all the people on set would call him by the made up name.

Duchovny also chatted about "Californication," which will be ending its run on June 29 after seven seasons on Showtime. He said he's happy with the ending and that "the show wraps up as the romance it is."

"Robert Ducunny had a great year," Duchovny joked.

Finally, Fallon and Duchovny battled it out in a heated game of beer hockey.
