“Girls” Star Adam Driver in Talks to Play Villain in “Star Wars 7”

Lena Dunham tweeted her support.

"Girls" actor Adam Driver is said to be in final negotiations to star as the villain in "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Multiple sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter that the star is about to close his deal to play the top secret role.

It should be noted that Michael Fassbender and Joel Kinnaman reportedly met with execs and tested to play to the same role last year.

It seems as though many of Hollywood's hunkiest have been linked to possibly star in the film.

Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling were both reportedly in talks to play Luke Skywalker's son.

Latino Review reported that Jonathan Rhys Meyers was wanted for the future flick, and that Leonardo DiCaprio passed on being involved.

Driver's co-star Lena Dunham reacted to the news on her Twitter page, saying, "We're VERY proud of Adam Driver re: Star Wars. He's about to rip a hole in da force. Is that a thing? I guess I should see those movies?"

She added, "I confirm nothing bc I know nothing bc I'm on a plane with my dad! I just like Adam more than almost anyone, and JJ Abrams a whole lot too."

Driver is best known for his role as the perpetually-grouchy Adam Sackler on Dunham's hit HBO series, and most recently starred in the indie flick "Inside Llewyn Davis."
