It was only a matter of time.

Following Lance Armstrong's admission to Oprah Winfrey that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career, J.J. Abrams is gearing up to produce a film about the cyclist's life.

The biopic will reportedly be based on New York Times sportswriter Juliet Macur's upcoming book "Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong," to which the Lost producer and Paramount Pictures secured the movie rights, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The book is scheduled to be published in June.

In his sit-down with Winfrey, Armstrong admitted for the first time to doping during his career, saying he didn't think he could've won the Tour de France seven times without it.
