Gosselin Kids Speak Out On Estranged Relationship With Their Father

Cara and Madelyn Gosselin are speaking out about "toxic" relationship with Jon

Jon Gosselin has said that he hasn't seen some of his children in a couple of years because Kate Gosselin only lets him see four of their eight kids at a time. But now two of his daughters, Cara and Madelyn Gosselin (Mady), are speaking out about their father and what's really going on.

In an interview with People, Gosselin's two daughters set the record straight, telling the magazine they're not being kept from their father, but instead, they just don't want to see him.

"I wouldn't even know what to say about him," Cara said.

Gosselin previously told Yahoo that he has no say in who he sees when his children come to visit. He also admitted that he hadn't seen their son Collin, who Kate admits has special needs, in almost two years.

"Now all the secrets are coming out because I'm not afraid to say anything. 'How come you only get four kids?' Because who I get is who I get," he told Yahoo. "Whoever comes through that gate or gets off that [school] bus is who I get. And Collin is home-schooled, so he doesn't get off a bus."

He continued, "If the kids want to come, they come. I love them all, but I am going to focus on the ones that want to come. My hands are tied."

But Mady's story about her relationship with her father is different.

"Here's how I feel about this," she shared. "This year I'm going to turn 16. I'm going to be learning to drive, taking the PSATs, thinking about college...so much is going on in my life. And the last thing I have time for is a toxic relationship."

Mady also said that as long as her father continues to talk about his kids in interviews, she won't reach out to him.

"He makes it seem like we're being kept from him, which is insane," she added. "He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don't want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen."

E! News has reached out to Gosselin for comment.

Having not seen Mady, 15, or the other kids in so long, Mady feels her father has no right to say anything.

"He doesn't even know us — how can he dare to talk about us?"

Although Kate says she has "no regrets," the mom of eight does worry about how her divorce will affect her children.

"They do struggle, and it's not going to be an easy road — anyone who grows up with a parent who is often absent is going to have issues to deal with," Kate said. "At the end of the day I just want them to make good choices. And so far they really have been."
