Kim Kardashian and Kanye West said their "I dos"--and it was fabulous.
E! News can exclusively confirm that the couple otherwise known as Kimye were married tonight in a private ceremony in the presence of family and friends in Florence, Italy. The ceremony was held at the historic Forte di Belvedere, a 16th-century-era fortress atop a hill near the Arno river, a fitting setting for the meant-to-be pair who proudly enjoy the finer things in life.
Kim's sprawling family was of course in attendance, with her sisters making up the bridal party and stepdad Bruce Jenner walking her down the aisle.
Kanye gushed about the city of Florence, or Firenze to the locals, in a recent interview with the local La Nazione, calling it "one of the most beautiful cities in the world, for me the most beautiful in Europe."
Not to mention, he also told the paper, he and Kim may have conceived their daughter "among the masterpieces of the Renaissance" when they were touring Italy for Kim's 32nd birthday.
Kim and Kanye's wedding weekend caps off a whirlwind period of planning, anticipation, celebration and--in case you hadn't noticed--speculation.
Stories purporting to answer the when-and-where question had been shadowing the betrothed duo for months, only to be formally answered by the reality of little North West's parents swapping vows Saturday.
And it appears that their dream was to take their party abroad and walk down the aisle in Europe.
According mother-of-the-bride Kris Jenner told E! News recently, Kim and Kanye took care of the wedding planning themselves, and she wasn't even involved in the gown-shopping process!
"I don't know how she looks in it. I'll see it for the first time when she puts it on at her wedding," she said earlier this month.
There was no doubt that Kim would look phenomenal on her big day, not long after modeling several bridal looks for the April issue of Vogue.
The wedding party started gathering in Paris a week ago, with Kim leading the way and her family jetting in after her and camping out at the Four Seasons King George V hotel.
On Thursday evening, Kim spent some of her waning hours of singlehood making a jaunt to the Eiffel Tower and enjoying a girls-only dinner hosted by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz (the purveyor of Kim's dazzling 15-carat engagement ring) and longtime friend of the family Shelli Azoff. Sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner attended Kim's "last supper," as did close pals Brittny Gastineau, La La Anthony, Rachel Roy and others.
Valentino hosted an intimate pre-wedding brunch for Kimye on Friday morning at his Chteau de Wideville, just outside of Paris. The Italian fashion icon's guest list was limited to family members, Kim's close friends Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck and fashion-world fixture Andr Leon Talley, who spilled all sorts of cozy details (spoiler: North's a total doll) in a blog post for Vogue.
Hundreds of guests then partied into the night on Friday at a lavish affair at the Palace of Versailles that included horse-and-carriage arrivals, fireworks and a surprise performance by Lana Del Rey.
The wedding party was flown in from Paris just this morning.
Of course, anyone who had ever seen this couple in action knew how special their big day would be when it finally came.
"He really is the most romantic, sweetest person I've ever met in my entire life," Kim told E! News about her future husband in December.
"Now I have two very special people to live for," Kanye said during a sit-down with Kris Jenner when he debuted the first photo of baby North on her talk show last summer. "A whole family to live for, a whole world to live for."
