Quvenzhané Wallis on Chores, Fashion and Denzel Washington
Quvenzhané Wallis, the young star of "Beasts of the Southern Wild," chats with Access at the 2013 Oscar Luncheon about meeting fellow nominee Denzel Washington. What did they say to each other? Plus, how has her life changed after she was nominated for an Oscar?
This Sudance champ tells the story of a little girl trying to survive on the bayou where her home and her father's health are both sinking fast. Opens June 27.
Imagine being awarded alongside the likes of Oprah Winfrey!
Gabrielle Union, first-time Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis, "Skyfall" starlet Naomie Harris and the OWN head honcho were just some of the incredible stars honored during Thursday's Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
And celebs at the bash couldn't stop gushing about Ms. Winfrey.
"It's Oprah, as soon as she speaks, as soon as she walks into a room, its something that's going to motivate, that's going to uplift you," Kelly Rowland told us. "I think God gives that gift to very few people and he gave it to her."
"It's insane," Union said of getting awarded along with Winfrey, before gushing about the media mogul, "Very rarely do you meet people who are as advertised. She's everything and then some. And she keeps giving more, which is the true sign of power."
