It's all back!
"The Voice" returns for its fifth season on Sept. 23, with original coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green coming back to battle it out with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton after Shakira and Usher filled their seats in season four. NBC has released the first trailer for the reality hit's highly-anticipated premiere/reunion, and after watching it several times, we only have this to say: Reunited and it feels so good!
In the new footage, Levine and Shelton's bromance is hotter than ever (there's even a smooch!), Shelton's ego is bigger than ever and the talent is better than ever.
"The original coaches, the bromance, the talent, it's all back," the trailer teases...and proves by showing off all three! "You're gorgeous, man," Levine says to Shelton, who plants a kiss on his BFF in return. It's good to know the spark is still alive five cycles in!
But Shelton is doing more than just smooching in the new season; he's bragging, too. The country crooner offers one contestant three reasons why she should pick him as her mentor: His trophies for winning three of the first four seasons! "Well, I understand that I am coming back to the Blake Shelton show at this point," Aguilera quipped at the Summer TCA press tour last month.
Also, raise your hands if you are loving the sassy bob Aguilera is working in the new footage! (Both of your hands should be raised, by the way, 'cause she is looking fierce.)
We exclusively reported that Levine has selected OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood and Demi Lovato, as his team's guest mentor for the Battle Rounds, which puts team mates head-to-head in a singing match up that will decide their fate on the series. No pressure!
"The Voice's" fifth season premieres Monday, Sept. 23 on NBC, and the Battle Rounds will air Oct. 14 and 15.
(E! and "The Voice" are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
