Will Smith Goes Head-to-Head with the NFL in ‘Concussion' Trailer

Will Smith's new movie "Concussion" tackles one of the NFL's biggest controversies: traumatic brain injury experienced by players.

The film is based on the true story of Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist who first discovered that chronic brain injury played a role in the deaths of some former NFL players.

The degenerative disease is known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

As Smith's character tries to bring the truth to light, he's met with roadblocks by NFL officials, who try to discredit and silence him.

"You're going to war with a corporation that owns a day of the week," he's told.

The movie is set to hit theaters on Dec. 25, right in the middle of football season.
