Taylor Swift: I Accept Kanye West's Apology

"He has not personally reached out to me or anything," she said today

Taylor Swift said Kanye West called her today to apologize for interrupting her speech during the MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend.

"Kanye did call me, and he was very sincere in his apology and I accepted that apology," she told ABC News Radio.

Earlier today, Swift appeared on ABC's "The View" and told the ladies this morning that the hip hop artist had not reached out to her to personally apologize despite his public appeals for forgiveness.

"He has not personally reached out to me or anything," Swift said on "The View" today. "But if he wanted to say hi... "

Reps at "The View" told gossip website TMZ.com that Kanye called to apologize following the show and that Swift accepted.

The 17-year-old starlet said she was stunned when hip hop artist Kanye bounded onto the stage during the award ceremony at Radio City Music Hall Sunday night, ripped the microphone out of her hand and began to argue she didn't deserve to win the award.

"My overall thought process went something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won. This is awesome,'" she told the ladies on "The View."

"'Don't trip and fall. I'm going to get to thank the fans, this is so cool ... Oh, Kanye West is here! Cool haircut! What are you doing there? And then, ouch. And then, I guess I'm not going to thank the fans."

Kanye expressed regret for pulling the stunt on his blog and later gave a tearful apology on "The Jay Leno Show."

"I'm not going to say that I wasn't rattled by it," Swift said today, "but I had to perform live five minutes later so I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform."

Stars flocked to Swift's defense and the songstress said she found the overwhelming support to be heartwarming.

"I just never imagined that there were that many people our there looking out for me, so it was really wonderful to see that people were out there defending me so I didn't have to."
