On the eve of the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, Stephen Colbert took swipes at both Mitt Romney and British Prime Minister David Cameron for committing an Olympic faux pas: trash-talking Olympic hosting cities.

The late night host took his first swing at Mitt Romney, who is currently in London on the "first stop of his charm offensive."

"Mitt really grabbed England by the crumpets," Colbert quipped, referring to Romney's remarks when asked about his thoughts on the London Games.

Colbert threw to a clip of a "Nightly News" interview, in which Romney made note of the understaffed private security firms and the looming immigration and customs officials strike, calling them "disconcerting."

"That is the same, classic Romney charm he used to woo his wife," Colbert mocked.

Not one to let his country get beat down, British Prime Minister David Cameron took a swipe at the Republican presidential candidate's Olympic organizing efforts during a press conference, which Colbert showed to the audience.

"We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active bustling cities anywhere in the world," Cameron said. "Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere."

Cameron's dig at Utah's location prompted Colbert to give the PM an impromptu geography lesson.

Chastizing Cameron for referring to Utah as "in the middle of nowhere," Colbert showed a map of Utah and the surrounding states.

"It's in the northwest corner of the middle of nowhere," Colbert chided. "Get your geography straight!"
