“Mad Men” May Be on Hiatus Until Fall

This is not a lucky strike for fans.

Season 5 of AMC's glossy 1960’s drama "Mad Men" may not air until the fall—or even later—the Daily New reports. Though there is no official statement from either creator Matthew Weiner or AMC, the fact there is no official start date yet is worrisome. In the past, the show has been filmed in April and May for a summer premiere, which is not the case this time.

Much like the fledgling advertising agency Sterling Cooper Draper Price, money—or rather, a lack thereof—is slowing down production.

According to the New York Post, Weiner’s been in “fierce arguments” with the studio that owns “Mad Men” over his compensation.

But not to worry; cast members have been finding other work to fill in the gaps. Emmy Award nominee Christina Hendricks, who plays the curvaceous Joan, will be joining Broadway briefly for a stint as a ditzy stewardess in the Sondheim musical “Company,” the New York Times reports.

In the meantime, fans can drown their sorrows by partaking in 3-hour lunches and by randomly proposing to your much younger secretary.
