Oprah To Announce Personal Reunion on Her Show

Oprah Winfrey is promising big news on her TV talk show, but you’ll have to wait until Monday to find out.

Winfrey said on Thursday that she is having her own reunion on the program, The Associated Press reported. She didn’t say who would be present at the event, other than it has to do with something she found out about.

"I thought I'd seen it all,” said Winfrey in a promo segment. “ But this, my friends, is the miracle of all miracles.

"I was given some news that literally shook me to my core. This time, I'm the one being reunited. I was keeping a family secret for months, and on Monday you're going to hear it straight from me."

According to the AP, Winfrey is the daughter of unwed teens Vernon Winfrey and Vernita Lee , and was reared by different people such as her grandmother, mother, father and stepmother in Mississippi, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Winfrey herself became a teen mother whose child died afterward, according to a story told by a relative in 1990.

An unauthorized biography of the talk show host by Kitty Kelley last year claims that Vernon Winfrey is not the biological father of Oprah. The author says she knows who the real father is but won’t say until Winfrey finds out on her own.

Winfrey is no stranger when it comes to staging reunions on her program—among them were reuniting the cast members from the movie "The Sound of Music" as well as the actual Von Trapp family members depicted in the film; the Osmond family; and Seal and his foster sister.

The media icon recently premiered her own cable network OWN in early January.
