Next week, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Councilman Eric Garcetti will appear on episodes of the ABC daytime drama "All My Children."

Although we'd prefer extra soapy plotlines involving amnesia and evil twins, the politicians' storylines will be rather tame.

Garcetti will appear Feb. 16 in a scene with David Canary. The two will discuss initiatives to make Chandler Enterprises more environmentally friendly. Yawn.

Then on Feb. 17,  Villaraigosa will cross paths with Susan Lucci's character, Erica Kane, at Confusion, the Pine Valley hotspot she partially owns. The characters previously met at a charity event in Los Angeles the year before. Double yawn.

Wake us up when Villaraigosa turns out to be Garcetti's long-lost father.

"All My Children" began taping in Los Angeles Jan. 4 after 40 years in New York City.
