Steven Tyler's Daughter: He's Saving “American Idol”

New "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler has given audiences a fair share of edgy soundbites since the new season began -- and his daughter said she thinks it's keeping the ratings up.

From creepily admiring the looks of a 15-year-old girl, to getting occasionally bleeped out by the Fox show's editors, Mia Tyler told Life & Style that her rocker daddy is way more interesting than Simon Cowell and his nasty quips.

"We're a very sarcastic family," said Mia, a plus-sized model and Liv Tyler's paternal half-sister. "He's the funniest man I know. He's saving the show because it was kind of boring before. There's only so many times you can watch Simon be mean to people."

While Mia may be biased, there's no doubt that the Aerosmith frontman's comments are entertainingly unpredictable. For example, he said about one contestant: "Water that flower 'cause I think it's gonna grow."

And it sounds like Tyler is having a fun time doing it.

"He loves [being a judge]!" Mia said.

Liv Tyler, the rocker's famous actress daughter, also gushed about her dad on the show recently, explaining she got "goose bumps" watching her dad.

Now that's a supportive family!
