Of all the theme parks vying for your child’s attention this summer, nothing is as interactive and captivating as LEGOLAND California Resort. With more than 60 rides, shows and attractions, 30,000 LEGO models, and countless “minilands” inspired by their most popular sets, this one-of-a-kind resort is the perfect family destination.

Watch as your little LEGO builders dig for fossils on Explorer Island, embark on high seas adventure at Pirate Shores or step back in time to the magical medieval ages of Castle Hill. Add “pink knuckle roller coasters,” model dinosaurs, water slides, LEGO replicas of famous U.S. cities, and SEA LIFE Aquarium, which provides children the first real experience to see, touch and learn all about the fascinating creatures of the ocean, and you’ve got a resort that’s as educational as it is entertaining.

Does that sound like enough adventure for one summer? Well brace yourself, because this year LEGOLAND California Resort has unveiled two new awesome areas: the LEGO STAR WARS™ Death Star model display inside LEGO STAR WARS™ Miniland and LEGO Friends Heartlake City.

The Death Star
That’s right, Jedis, the Death Star—the Empire’s most fearsome weapon—is now fully operational. The LEGO STAR WARS™ Death Star model display inside LEGO STAR WARS™ Miniland takes children to a galaxy far far away with its sheers size and iconic interactive scenes from the movie. Built by LEGO master builders and comprised of 500,000 LEGO bricks, the nearly two-ton Death Star includes such animated features as an LED planet-destroying laser and the famous trench run scene between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Children (along with you big kids, too) can get in on the action, building starships of their own and using the force to control the action between key players like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Lord Vader.

LEGO Friends Heartlake City
Based on the popular LEGO toy line, “LEGO Friends,” Heartlake City brings the adventures and personalities of five girls to life. Children can interact with Mia, Olivia, Andrea, Stephanie and Emma on a performance stage, go for a horseback ride on a beautiful new carousel, stroll through the LEGO horse stables for building activities and splash about in Heartlake City Fountain. There’s even a Creperie, where you and your family can cap all the fun over freshly made crêpes.
