It's Holiday Fun week at the Original Farmers Market, and the musical and craft-cool to-dos are free.

If you've ever strolled by a building and heard live music inside, or singing, or the laughter of an audience, you've likely pondered how nice it would be to join the action, and see the performers, and then you remembered: You don't have a ticket.

Here's the lovely, don't-sweat-it thing about strolling by the Original Farmers Market and hearing carols or mariachi music or the laughter of an audience in the days before Christmas: You don't even need a ticket.

It's all beautifully free, so pause before patting your pockets for your wallet and proceed to head inside the clocktower-iconic public market for the annual Holiday Fun week.

Running through Saturday, Dec. 24, Holiday Fun covers a number of tune-happy, kid-sweet corners, and it all depends upon when you're at the Third & Fairfax market as to what you'll hear, enjoy, and experience.

Depending on the day and hour you arrive, you could partake in the Hollywood Police Activities League Christmas Showcase, Einstein's Christmas Caribbean Band, Christmas Karaoke, a juggling show, the making of Nutcracker-themed crafts, and a Holiday Swing-a-Ling with Big Lucky.

There are a few evening happenings of the musical kind, but if you land at the booth-lined, food-fantastic market during the day through Christmas Eve, you're bound to see something soundful or craftful or holidayful afoot.

Plus there are those festive decorations to admire, the tall tree covered in wee green shopping carts, the kind that are synonymous with the founded-in-1934 destination.

Even the two clocktowers, the timeless symbols of the Original Farmers Market, are rocking their seasonal, bulb-bright best.

Buying gifts at The Grove? Or simply seeking out a festive coffee or cookie or glass of wine or some chilaquiles? Weave in some free yuletide entertainment while you sit down for your sustenance, post-shopping.

That's right, you can walk inside this building without a ticket, and see what all of the festive fuss is about. No pocket-patting, where's-my-wallet-ing required.
