Mayweather vs. McGregor: Where to Watch in LA

Didn't get your ringside ticket to T-Mobile Arena? Sports bars around Los Angeles will be watching all of the action.

If you've got a ringside seat at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, Aug. 26 — make that any seat — you're likely the talk of your friends at the moment.

For the much-written-about, oh-so-analyzed, and beyond-anticipated showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr., the five-division world boxing champion, and Conor McGregor, UFC lightweight champion and mixed martial arts superstar, is making headlines in the sports pages and just about every other page, too.

And while many fans will watch the major pay-per-view extravaganza from home, you can count on sports bars around Southern California to be tuned in on the evening of Aug. 26.

One important note to keep in mind: Some venues are already sold out, or may sell out or fill to capacity in the hours ahead of the boxing match.

So if you plan to catch it down at your corner tavern, or have a favorite bar in mind, just check in first to make sure that tickets remain before you arrive at the door.

Also, not every sports bar in town will tune in, so if you do visit a regular spot, perhaps you'll want to see if the venue plans on showing the fight.

As for pubs, taverns, and bars with a commitment to screening the big bout? Check out...

Busby's East: Go Wilshire Boulevard, grab a carne asada burrito and beer, and settle in for all of the excitement out of Las Vegas. And at Busby's West? Same deal: It's fight time. The tables'll be pre-sold, so secure yours before heading over.

Rush Street: Over a dozen televisions — 16 in all — will broadcast the fight, with a pair of bars and a pair of lounges humming throughout the event. A reservation is important (it's $40), so if you'll be in Culver City, and want to watch it all from this longtime hangout, book asap.

Bludso's Bar & Que: Seating is at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 at the Hollywood location, and the a la carte menu will be served. Your entry price? It's $30, plus a little extra, online ahead of time, but bring money for the savory vittles, too.

Cabo Cantina Hollywood: Stroll by this bar on any given Saturday night and it'll be hopping, but on Aug. 26? It's showing the Mayweather vs. McGregor bout, so prepare for a truly bustling scene. The Cabo Cantina on the Sunset Strip is also tuning into the Las Vegas showdown, too.

The Nickel Mine: "Arrive early" is the posted advice from this Santa Monica Boulevard hot spot, and good advice it is, too. How much is entry? Thirty bucks. What's to eat? Think savory, cheese-luscious New York-style pizza, and lots of it.

Sonny McLean's Irish Pub & Restaurant: So you'll be in Santa Monica, you want a cold brew and a traditional Bavarian pretzel, and you'd like to see what's happening in Sin City from an atmospheric, pub-y space. This is your Saturday Night go-to.

The Greyhound Bar & Grill: You're in Highland Park, and you're hoping to watch the bout on something extra big, like a 120" HD projector. This bar can help you with that, and keep you close to the Gold Line. It's twenty bucks at the door. And if you want to keep an eye on the Dodgers, you can.

Rocco's Tavern: There are four locations — Studio City, Culver City, Pasadena, and Westwood — so best choose where you want to be as soon as the bell sounds. But wherever you go, you'll want to make reservations first, so begin here.

The Parlor: Before you make for Melrose Avenue, drop an email to this venue to reserve your spot. The foodstuffs that'll keep you sated as you watch the rounds roll by on screen? Fresh ceviche, nachos, avocado toast, and Parlor meatballs.

Flights Beer Bar: The seats are reserved at this Hawthorne destination. Recommendation? Get on yours before they go, go, go. The suds are sublime and there's a whole host of wings tossed in a variety of sauces and such. Line up your spot pronto.

AND IN THEATERS: There are still tickets available for the Fathom Events screenings. Check your local cinema and see if it'll be showing the main event.
