Can you huff, puff and blow a house in? Does toast always tend to land butter-side down? Does running in the rain get you less wet than walking through it? Can you really make a canoe out of duct tape?
Based on the Discovery Channel’s Emmy®-nominated TV series, this interactive exhibit mixes scientific method with gleeful curiosity, allowing guests to uncover the truth behind the myths for themselves. You'll be able to emulate the MythBuster hosts by using the same interactive technology and hands-on approach to explore the world of science, while artifacts from previous episodes will be on display and science center staff will perform live MythBusting demonstrations.
Let's take a closer look at the galleries, workshops and demonstrations guests will enjoy at this unique exhibit:
The MythBusters Blueprint Room
Decked out to look like the real-life operations room of the MythBusters’ iconic set, this first gallery room acts as an “introduction to MythBusting” and showcases more than 60 artifacts salvaged from more than 700 experiments conducted on the series. Explore artifacts like a 20-foot mechanical shark, a jet pack, and, of course, Buster, the MythBusters' infamous stunt dummy.
The MythBusters Workshop
Get ready for some action. In the free-flowing Workshop, you’ll engage in real hands-on experiments with real results. Test over a dozen topics expanding upon the myths seen on MythBusters, with a few never-before-seen myths saved specifically for the exhibition. Find out if it's possible to pull a tablecloth from under a place setting, throw a card like a dangerous weapon, or blow down a house of bricks with an air cannon.
Live Demonstration Stage
Now that your individual experimentation is complete, you have the opportunity to be a part of a high-energy, group MythBusting session presented by the science center staff. This 10-minute live demonstration allows for a dynamic and fun deep-dive into the scientific method to explore some of the myths associated with human reaction time and momentum. Don't be surprised if you're called onto stage to participate!
