“Star Wars: Invasion Los Angeles” Goes Viral

TIE Fighters and more intergalactic machinery zoom over SoCal in a new short.

Any true fan of an iconic pop culture property is bound to get stoked over a small bit of information, a new photo or some casting news.

This is right and good and one of the tenets of the fandom universe: If something to do with your most favorite thing ever pops up, and it's fun and interesting, your fan fires are stoked.

With this in mind, we're sure the legions of "Star Wars" devotees heading into Anaheim this week for the four-day-big Star Wars Celebration are feeling the Force, fully, over the new, going-everywhere video from filmmaking merrymakers Kaipotainment.

What is "Star Wars: Invasion Los Angeles," exactly? Oh, just a fleet of different vehicles originating from deep within the cosmos calling upon Santa Monica Pier, Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Queen Mary.

Sunbathers enjoying the beach don't normally want to see a TIE Fighter zooming past -- we mean, like, Darth Vader could be piloting it -- but exceptions can be made for this well-made short video.

If you have to know how cineStarWars fan Kaipo Jones put the rather spectacular work together, there's a Behind the Scenes video, too. If you want to know where to see an AT-AT, well, we're fairly sure they've moved on from our shores. And thank goodness, too. A stunning sight, surely, but not one we want to tackle while we're trying to read our magazines on the beach.
