NATIONAL PARKS FREE DAYS: The National Park Service waives admission at those parks that charge an entrance fee over a few days a year. The final free dates of 2013 have arrived, and they happen in honor of Veterans Day. WORLD'S LARGEST BOW: Getting a jump on the whole holiday shopping thing? If you start at the Citadel Outlets, you'll be treated to an unusual sight. And make that a mammoth sight, too: The 5-close shopping destination is now home to the world's largest bow, a giant, red, glittery topper that is set to outdo all seasonal decorations for sheer wowness. But the wowness'll continue, seasonally, next week, when the Grove debuts its huge tree, officially, on Sunday, Nov. 17. Oh, hi, holidays.
ARTS DISTRICT TOUR: If you hear about something that's a) lively or b) tasty or c) full of art or d) full of music or e) is some sort of flavored stout or ale, chances these days is that it is originating in the downtown-y nook called the Arts District. The LA Conservancy is leading a tour on Sunday, Nov. 10 -- cost is $35 -- which'll garner you some deep knowledge about all of those storied, brick-and-beam buildings.
