As life continued to imitate art, the actor who played Marlo Stansfield on HBO's hit crime drama "The Wire," took a page out of his character's script in crafting his response to a shooting that happened outside of his wife's baby shower.

"I would like to make it clear that the shooting incident [Sunday] did not take place at my home, nor did it involve me, my wife, nor any of the invited guests," actor Jamie Hector said in a statement, according to the Daily News.

Or, as Baltimore drug lord Marlo Stansfield might put it to a nosy detective, "We didn't have nothin' to do with nothin'!"

Hector's wife was inside a Brooklyn party  -- a baby shower for her --  when gunfire erupted outside the East Flatbush building.

And in move straight made for TV, one of the gunmen followed his victim to the hospital and fired another shot at him to try and finish him off.

At least 46 shell casings were foudn by detectives in a half block radius at E. 93rd  Street and Avenue B.

Linton Williams, 17, died at the scene. Andrew Filso, 32, who was trailed and shot as he fled in a car to Downstate Medical Center, was eventually taken to Kings County Medical Center, a trauma hospital.

Walter Parker, 22, was hit in the leg outside the party. He waved down an ambulance and was taken to Brookdale University Hospital.

Even though Hector claimed that none of the victims were at the party, locals told the Daily News that Williams and Parker had just left the shindig.

Hector, who starred in "Heroes," "Jericho" and "The Game," stopped by the baby shower at E. 93rd St. in Brooklyn for a period of time but it was unknown if he was at the shower when the gunplay began, according to the News.
