International bogeyman Ayman Al-Zawahiri, the No. 2 at Al-Qaida, posted his first message on the Internet since Barack Obama won the presidential election. It was a less than flattering greeting.

Obama is "the direct opposite of honorable black Americans'' such as Malcolm X, said al-Zawahiri, according to CNN. "In you and in Colin Powell, (Condoleezza) Rice and your likes, the words of Malcolm X (may Allah have mercy on him) concerning 'House Negroes' are confirmed."

Criticism from the likes of this man is to be ignored. He is an insult to the great No. 2s -- Scottie Pippen, Ed McMahon, Bababooey -- in the pantheon of second bananas.

Men like Dick Grayson, Andy Richter and Ed Norton knew their role in the power structure. They stood aside and let stars like Johnny Carson, Lucille Ball and Bullwinkle Moose work their magic, call shots, be the face of the brand. Al-Zawahiri should take a lesson.
