A limousine driving on a major bridge in the San Francisco area caught on fire, killing five women and sending four others to hospitals, according to NBC Bay Area. The fire occurred on the San Mateo-Hayward bridge that connects San Mateo and Alameda counties, closing the westbound lanes for several hours. The vehicle was carrying nine women and one male driver. Five of the women were caught in the vehicle while five others managed to escape after the vehicle came to a stop. The victims were all females who are thought to be in their 30s. California Highway Patrol officer said that of the survivors, one had severe burns and three others sustained minor to moderate injuries including smoke inhalation. The four were quickly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the driver who escaped wasn't hospitalized.
