Art and Wine Festival Uses Anniversary to Honor Mother, Toddler Killed Last Year

Livermore, a city in the East Bay, held its 25th annual art and wine festival this weekend. Organizers banded together and decided to use the landmark anniversary to honor two victims of drunk driving.

On Sunday, family and friends of Esperanza Morales-Rodriguez and her 14-month-old daughter joined with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to pay tribute to the mother and daughter, who were killed in an alleged drunk driving crash at the end of last year's festival.

Organizers stressed the importance of appointing a designated driver and drinking responsibly.

Investigators say that Brian Jones, 36, was headed back from the festival that day and had a blood alcohol level of .14 when he crashed into an apartment and killed the pair. Jones is facing two counts of murder as a result of their deaths.
