It's back to the past.
California motorists can get some vintage styling on their late-model vehicles, with the classic black license plates of yesteryear, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The three vintage styles -- black plates with yellow lettering, blue plates with gold lettering and gold plates with dark letters -- are all available for motorists willing to fork over an extra $50.
And that's thanks to 7,500 people who applied to have the plates, the newspaper reported. That was the demand required before the DMV would start stamping the plates.
