Man Pops the Question on Stage During Surprise Proposal

One audience member got a lot more than he expected at a Valentine's Day performance of Avenue Q in Coronado.

At the 8 p.m. performance of the show at the Coronado Playhouse, David Miller, a Vista resident, popped the question to his longtime boyfriend Dave Abad.

The two met through an online dating site more than two years ago. For Valentine's Day weekend, Abad flew home to San Diego to attend the performance of his favorite musical with his boyfriend.

During the show's curtain call, the couple was invited on stage under the rouse that they had won something. Miller was helped by the show's puppets as he got down on one knee and asked his boyfriend to marry him. His boyfriend said yes.

Miller works as a biotech project manager in Vista. Abad, however, works as an attorney in the San Francisco Bay area. The couple is in a long distance relationship.
