WATCH: Man Drives Into East Bay Hotel, Reverses Over Curb With 2 Flat Tires

Newark police are investigating a Saturday incident in which a man rammed his minivan into a hotel and then ran over a curb and bushes – all despite having two flat tires.

Witness Angel Trevino, who filmed the crash on his cell phone, said the driver struck the side of the Residence Inn Newark Silicon Valley by Marriot on the 35000 block of Dumbarton Court around 10:30 a.m.

Another witness ran up to the minivan’s driver to ask if he was okay, but the man threw the vehicle into reverse and hit the gas while the driver's side door swung open. The man then sped over a curb, through some bushes and struck a still unidentified object, according to Trevino.

The man then began to drive off — with the driver's door still ajar — andTrevino can be seen running after him to catch a glimpse of the vehicle's license number.

It is unclear when the minivan’s tires’ air leaked out, but they were deflated when he careened off, Trevino said.

Trevino also shared his video with police, who were already looking for the minivan’s driver.

As of Saturday afternoon, police were questioning the man, but there was no word on whether he had been arrested or charged.

The collision knocked out water supply to the Residence Inn. As of 12:45 p.m., guests were still without water.

Hotel officials have not yet provided an estimate on the damage incurred.
