A second flight shuttling Central American migrant children and families from the Texas border has arrived in Southern California without trouble.

Lombardo Amaya, president of border patrol agents' union in El Centro, said Wednesday that three buses brought about 140 migrants to the El Centro facility for processing.

U.S. Rep. Juan Vargas, a California Democrat, traveled to meet with the group that was flown from the overcrowded Rio Grande Valley sector in Texas.

The arrival of another group on Tuesday was met by protesters who blocked the entrance of a border patrol station in suburban Murrieta, forcing them to head for another facility.

Murrieta officials had voiced opposition to the transfers. However, some community advocates are collecting clothing, food and donations to assist the migrants.
