30 Acre Wildland Fire Contained at Camp Pendleton

A 30 acre wildland fire near the San Luis Rey gate at Camp Pendleton was contained by fire fighters Sunday, fire officials said. 

Mop up crews began to work around 6:30 p.m. after they contained the fire, which starting burning around 3 p.m. that day close to a golf course in the Camp Pendleton region, near Oceanside. 

The windy conditions did not having an impact on the fire, Camp Pendleton officials said, and the wind was not suspected to be the cause, though they do not have a cause of the fire at this time. 

The fire did not threaten any structures, though the golf course was evacuated at the start of the fire, Camp Pendleton officials said. 

Cal Fire is assisted the crews with one copter, two crews and a Battalion Chief, though it was not a Cal Fire incident.
