A man has been arrested in connection with recent iPod scams in the San Diego area.

Gian Ericson De Los Reyes, 26, is accused of entering local Target stores, removing iPods from their cases and putting erasers in the boxes to simulate a similar weight.

Thefts were reported in Santee, Poway, Lemon Grove, Chula Vista, Escondido and San Diego.

De Los Reyes was taken into custody while crossing into the United States from Mexico on Wednesday and booked on two charges of commercial burglary.

His bail is set at $50,000 and the investigation is continuing.
