Coachella Valley Southern California Edison customers will have the chance to learn about the incentives of installing a solar energy system in their home next month.

Southern California Edison, the Desert Cities Energy Partnership and the city of Palm Springs will offer a free solar energy session about the California Solar Initiative Program at the Palm Spring City Hall on June 4.

"We here in the Coachella Valley are lucky enough to have an abundance of sun at our disposal," said Mayor Steve Pougnet. "Let's put it to work to save energy."

Residents can learn about solar energy basics, the benefits of installing a solar energy system, tax credits and other financial models that can help reduce up front costs and financial incentives through the CSI programs.

The session is free, but requires registration because space is limited.
