Two men were arrested Monday after allegedly attempting to steal solar panels from the roof of the U.S. Social Security Administration building in Torrance, according to the Daily Breeze newspaper.

The newspaper reported that the men had stacked the panels on top of the buliding by the time officers arrived. Authorities said the men probably were going to recycle the panels for profit.

The building is at 22600 Crenshaw Boulevard.
