Afraid of surgery but tired of wrinkles and sagging skin? Many doctors are now offering a non-surgical face lift.
Cosmetic specialist Simon Ourian, one of many doctors who perform such procedures, says a non-surgical face lift is safer, less invasive and cheaper than a surgical face lift.
The non-surgical face lift involves four different techniques: wrinkle fillers, botox, mesotherapy, which uses vitamin B and aminophylline to shrink fat cells, and a laser treatment, which tightens skin and removes sun damage
Ingrid Kern, who sought a non-surgical face lift to smooth wrinkles and heal sun damage, said she looked 10 years younger after her first procedure, which lasted less than 30 minutes.
Channel four's medical reporter Dr. Bruce Hensel reports the procedure is safe, but not for everyone. Hensel said the procedure is best for people seeking to refreshing uplift; those seeking drastic improvement should look into the surgical option. Non-surgical face lifts may not be as effective or long-lasting as surgical techniques.
