Blind Childrens Center Lights the Way

The Blind Childrens Center in Los Angeles has been lighting the way for blind and visually impaired children since 1938.

The school provides early intervention and education that often starts at birth and continues through the second grade. As an inclusive school, half the children are visually impaired and have other special needs, and half the children are typical kids from the community.

The unique school is funded entirely by private donations, allowing all the children and their families to receive free services and a private education that meets California's state curriculum standards, at no cost.

As one of the official charities of the LA Marathon, the Blind Childrens Center is recruiting runners, donors and volunteers at LAMarathon.com and BlindChildrensCenter.org.
