I'm going through an almost identical issue with Dell Financial. I was never late, always paid a little more than the amount due, then they raised my rates to ~30% interest pushing my monthly payment $4--yes, $4--over the amount that I was automatically paying. They never sent me a notice of the rate increase and now those bastards have closed my account because there were "too many inquiries" on it. Don't roll over! It's also Lowes, Home Depot, and VISA, Mastercard providers. Seems they all jumped on the band wagon to increase APR's and fees when our mortgage and economic system started showing signs of failure. Like most people I used credit, and was able to pay my monthly payment and the current interest rate...and I continued to use my cards. Now...I stopped using my cards because of the APR. Currently, all my cards are at 29.99% and, no, they don't negotiate your rates upon request, so I stopped spending because now I can't afford to pay the APR - hmmmm. Apparently the banks don't really "care" for their customers as they say they do. Once I pay off my accounts, I am staying away from credit cards. Gee, if everyone did that...where would the banks be?? Where would Lowes, Home Depot and just about every business that relies on credit purchases be? Banks pretty much ruined their relationships with their customers - and - it doesn't matter."}],"error":"","totPages":1}
