Times are tough.
By 11 p.m. Monday night at least 60 people had lined up outside a Hyde Park business hoping to feed their families on Thanksgiving by getting a free turkey dinner at a Tuesday morning giveaway. By Tuesday morning at 6 a.m., the line of people waiting for freebies wound around the block.
The 21st annual Jackson Limousine Service Turkey Dinner Giveaway will distribute an expected 10,000 turkeys and fixings to low-income and needy people.
The event is sponsored by E.J. Jackson, founder and president of Jackson Limousine Service, a chauffer service to the stars in Los Angeles.
The giveaway is taking place at Jackson Limousine Service fleet yard, 3669 W. Slauson Avenue, Los Angeles.
We’re told it's first come, first served.
