Angelenos Too Laid Back to Hurry Up on Taxes

Maybe Angelenos prefer to wait for a rainy day to do their taxes. That might explain why they're among the nation's biggest procrastinators when it comes to filing tax returns.

Los Angeles ranks no. 10 among American cities in a list that tracks tax procrastinators. The list was determined by the number of tax returns electronically filed online via the TurboTax Online service from April 13-17, 2008.

The rainy day theory makes sense, until you consider that the top-ranked city in California -- and everywhere else -- is San Francisco.

The only other California city on the list is San Diego, which comes in at the no. 5 spot. Who knows what their excuse is.
