Police in Washington, D.C., have charged a 35-year-old Maryland man with the murder of, an art collector and dealer with ties to Los Angeles and the D.C. area.
Naimi had been living in Rockville, Md., where she was reported missing on July 19. Her body was discovered one day later in the 300 block of Farragut Street in Washington.
Police say the suspect, Raymond L. Williams, worked at a warehouse behind an art studio Naimi operated in Rockville. Investigators have not commented on a possible motive. Williams is being held without bond.
The proprietor of two well-established galleries in the U.S., Naimi sold her galleries and became an art consultant. She was a graduate of Sotheby's Institute of Art in London. She also studied in Italy.
She counted Hollywood celebrities among her clients, and had operated a studio on Wilshire Boulevard.
She described her mission this way, "To place the perfect creation in the eyes of its beholder is divine, and to restore the damages of time and human mistakes to the arts remains a powerful feeling. Maintenance of knowledge in restoration, market value and custom procurement are my services, how may I serve your art needs?"
